I'm trying to manage my passwords that are saved. When I try to get into password manager, a box pops up that says I need to enter password for windows\computer. I don't know the password and there is no password retrieval option. It gives me an option to sign in using another account. I put that user/password in and it says its incorrect (even though I just reset that through microsoft). What do I need to do?

    Hello

This is the password you use to enter your computer/Windows when you turn on the computer.

Make sure to see if it asks for password, or pin. If you have PIN set upl it might be asking for PIN.

If it is indeed asking for password, are you using a local user or a Microsoft account to sign into Windows? If it is local user and you never set up a password, leave it blank and press enter. See if it works.

It seems like you're experiencing issues with accessing your password manager due to a prompt for a Windows password that you do not remember. Here are a few steps you can take to resolve this issue:

    1. Check for Local Account Password: If you are using a local account on your Windows computer, ensure that you are entering the correct password for that account. If you have forgotten it, you may need to reset it.
    2. Use Microsoft Account: If your computer is linked to a Microsoft account, try signing in with that account instead. Make sure you are using the correct email and password associated with your Microsoft account.
    3. Password Reset: If you have recently reset your Microsoft account password, ensure that you are using the updated password. Sometimes, it may take a little time for the changes to propagate across all services.
    4. Self-Service Password Reset: If you are unable to remember your password, you can use the Self-Service Password Reset (SSPR) feature if it is enabled by your organization. This allows you to reset your password without needing administrator assistance. You can typically access this by going to the password reset portal on a different device.
    5. Contact IT Support: If none of the above options work, it may be best to contact your IT support team for assistance, especially if this is a work or school account.

If you continue to have issues, you may want to check if there are any specific configurations or policies set by your organization that could affect password management.
