I have been getting constant authentication requests for my personal email. I signed out of all accounts via microsoft account but still constantly getting auth requests that I did not request. How can I get this annoyance to stop? What is causing the issue and how can I stop it for good??

If you are receiving constant authentication requests for your personal email, it may be due to several factors. Here are some potential causes and solutions:

    1. Duplicate Tokens: If you have duplicate tokens in your keychain, this can lead to repeated prompts for authentication. You can resolve this by deleting any cached passwords and modern authentication tokens from your keychain.
    2. Incorrect User Principal Name (UPN): If your email address differs from your UPN and you have entered your email address in the User name field of the Accounts dialog box in Outlook, you may need to manually enter your UPN instead.
    3. Logon Network Security Settings: If the Logon network security setting is not set to Anonymous Authentication, you may experience continual prompts for credentials. Adjusting this setting can help resolve the issue.
    4. Outdated Software: Ensure that your Outlook application is updated to the latest version, as older versions may have unresolved issues that cause authentication prompts.
    5. Microsoft Entra WAM Plugin: If you are using a work account, you may need to reinstall the Microsoft Entra WAM plugin using PowerShell to fix authentication issues.

To stop the authentication requests, you can try the following steps:

    • Delete cached passwords and tokens from your keychain.
    • Ensure that you are using the correct UPN in your account settings.
    • Check and adjust the Logon network security settings.
    • Update your Outlook application to the latest version.
    • If necessary, use PowerShell to reinstall the relevant authentication packages.

By following these steps, you should be able to reduce or eliminate the constant authentication requests you are experiencing.
