Inherited Global Navigation from Parent Not Showing on SharePoint Online Subsites

Hi MS Q&A,

Have observed that Global Navigation are not showing up on a Subsite Homepage when configured with "Display the same navigation items as the parent site" option via Site Settings > Navigation.

The inherited Global Navigation appears when navigated to the Site Settings page but disappears when going back to the Subsite Homepage.

Successfully able to reproduce the issue when provisioning a Subsite without explicitly enabling Navigation Inheritance "Use the top link bar from the parent site?" and attempting to inherit navigation from parent after Subsite has been provisioned.

If Navigation Inheritance had been explicitly enabled during Subsite provisioning stage, the issue does not appear to resurface even after disabling and re-enabling navigation inheritance subsequently via Site Settings > Navigation > Global Navigation settings.
The Subsite Template chosen was "Team site (no Microsoft 365 Group)".

There is no Top Link Bar option available under Site Settings > Look and Feel section:

Appreciate any advice or information.

Thank you.

    Hi @Daniel Chee ,

In my tests, I cannot reproduce your problem. For example:

We suggest you check the following points:

1.Go to the top-level site's Site Settings page as site admin>> (Look and Feel) Navigation

2.On the Navigation Settings page, under Global Navigation section, which one did you choose? Managed Navigations or Structural Navigation? In my test, I choose the "Structural Navigation: Display the navigation items below the current site" option.

3.Create a sub site. Here is my sub site:

4.Go to the sub site's Site Settings page, under Look and Feel section, click "Navigation"

5.On the Navigation Settings page, under Global Navigation section, select the "Display the same navigation items as the parent site (Parent is using Structural Navigation.)" option.

6.Clear the browser cache and refresh page
