Hey all,

I just signed up for azure trial account and I'm trying to spin up the free vm.

No matter which region I select, I get the same error.

I couldn't find some sort of prereq for this to be possible. I'm the account owner.
Is there really no capacity left or what is happening?
thanks, Claudius

Hi @Kiri ,

if the issue is related to the Standard_B1s - 1 vcpu SKU:

Please check if one of these VM SKUs (free) are available for you:

For Windows VM: B1, B2ATS

For Linux VM: B1, B2ATS, and B2PTS

All of these are free of charge (750 hours per month) if used with a P6 (64GiB) managed disk.

As the B series (version 1/v1) is being retired in a lot of Azure regions the B2ATS might be the preferred VM SKU.

It seems that your Azure trial subscription may have limitations that prevent you from creating virtual machines in the East US region. This can happen due to a lack of capacity in that specific region or because certain regions are not available for trial subscriptions. Here are a few steps you can take:

    1. Choose a Different Region: Since your subscription doesn't support VM creation in East US, try selecting a different region where your subscription is eligible.
    2. Check Capacity: Sometimes, specific VM sizes may not be available due to capacity constraints. You can check the availability of VM sizes in other regions.
    3. Upgrade Subscription: If you are on a trial account, consider upgrading to a paid subscription, as trial accounts may have restrictions on resource availability.

If you continue to experience issues, you may want to reach out to Azure support for more detailed assistance regarding your subscription limitations.
