Hi, I'm Bernard, a fellow Windows user. I'm happy to help!

Based on your inputs, I recommend repairing Microsoft Office on your PC. Kindly follow the steps below:

Press the Windows key + R, then type in:

    appwiz.cpl

    Then hit OK

Look for the Microsoft Office or Microsoft 365 app > Right-click, then select "Change" > Select "Quick Repair" Then follow the prompts to repair.

If Excel is freezing while you are working, there are several potential causes and solutions you can consider:

    1. Temporary Files: Accumulation of temporary files can slow down Excel. You may want to clean out your temporary files. You can access your temp directory by typing %temp% in the Run dialog (accessible via the Start menu).
    2. Tracking Changes: If you are using a shared workbook with tracking changes enabled, this can increase the file size and slow down performance. Consider disabling this feature if it's not necessary.
    3. Fragmented Swap File: Ensure that your Windows swap file is on a disk with ample space and that you periodically defragment the disk.
    4. Password-Protected Workbook Structure: If your workbook has a password-protected structure, it may open and close more slowly than one without such protection.
    5. Used Range Problems: Oversized used ranges can cause slow performance. Check for hidden rows or columns that may be affecting the used range.
    6. Large Number of Controls: A large number of controls on worksheets can also lead to performance issues.

If these steps do not resolve the freezing issue, consider moving to a 64-bit version of Excel or breaking your workbook into smaller files. Additionally, if the problem persists, you may want to open a support ticket with Microsoft for further assistance.
