Cannot add any payment method – billing profile appears blocked

Hello,

I am unable to add any payment method to my Microsoft account.

Every debit card I try results in the same error message:

“Check that all fields are correct or try a different card.”

All card details are correct and the cards are active.

I have already tried:

  • multiple valid debit cards
  • different browsers and devices
  • removing old and expired cards
  • correct billing address and country

This happens with every card, so this appears to be an account-level billing or payment profile block.

I need assistance from Microsoft Support to reset or unlock my billing/payment profile so I can add a new payment method.

Thank you.

    Hello Marko Mandli,

Thank you for reaching out in Microsoft Q&A forum.

I understand how frustrating it is when you can’t add any payment method even though all card details are correct and you’ve already tried multiple troubleshooting steps.

You’ve already tested almost everything, but these are the only additional checks that sometimes work:

    If it still cannot help:

This issue must be addressed directly with the official Microsoft Support team for Accounts and Billing:

    1. Go to Contact Us - Microsoft and sign in your account.
    2. Type Billing and payment in the search box.
    3. Click Get help and Select Contact Support.
    4. Choose Microsoft 365 and Office as Products and Services; and Billing and payment updates as Category
    5. Click Confirm.
    6. You can choose to chat with a support representative.

Note: The chat support team only works during certain working hours. Therefore, if the last window indicates that you are unavailable, try opening it again the next day. If you prefer phone support, you can leave a phone number. That way, they can call you and help you.
