Error with reoccurring billing for 365 basic

I don’t understand why I keep getting billed £1.99 for 365 Basic as I share 365 Family with my husband at ******@live.co.uk.  I have spoke to you about this before (Sep 25) where you refunded me 2 months but it still keeps repeating and talking funds.  Please resolve this once and for all and refund my monies for a product I cancelled when my husband bought 355 Family.

Hi, I'm John! I will help you with this.

What usually causes this is that 365 Basic is still active on your own Microsoft account, even though you’ve joined the Family plan. Family sharing does not automatically cancel a Basic subscription, it has to be cancelled separately.

Here’s what I recommend you do:

Sign in to your own Microsoft account (the one being charged £1.99) https://account.microsoft.com/services Look for Microsoft 365 Basic in the list of subscriptions > Select Manage > Choose Cancel or Turn off recurring billing

Once cancelled, make sure you are added to your husband’s Family plan here:

https://account.microsoft.com/family You should see your email listed as a family member with Microsoft 365 access.

For the refund, only Microsoft Billing can do that, but you are eligible since you were charged after cancelling and already flagged this in September.

  • Here is the link: https://support.microsoft.com/home/contact
  • Type this keyword and press Enter: Contact Support.
  • At the bottom, click "Sign in to contact support" and sign in with your Personal Microsoft account (Not work or school account), or click "Contact Support" if you're already signed in.
  • In Product and services, select "Microsoft 365 and Office".
  • In Category, select "Billing and Account Profile questions".
  • Click "Chat with a support agent in your web browser".

If you ever find yourself stuck in a loop, please use the keywords "Contact Support" or "Live Chat" (without the quotes) and click "Contact Support" at the bottom.

I really hope this information is helpful! Let me know if you have any further questions or concerns.

Regards,

John J.D.
