Remove an orphaned entry in Authenticator

I have Microsoft Authenticator for Android and there is an "orphaned" entry that I can't delete. I helped my partner sign into an app and now they are finally using their own Authenticator.

I have tried to just remove it from the "gear" icon there is no delete option, just rename.

Any suggestions would be helpful.

To remove an orphaned entry in the Microsoft Authenticator app for Android, you can try the following steps:

    1. Open the Authenticator app and tap on the account name of the orphaned entry.
    2. Tap on Settings.
    3. Look for the option to Delete passkey or similar. If this option is not available, it may be necessary to check if the entry is linked to any other account or service that needs to be removed first.
    4. If the orphaned entry persists, you may need to remove it from the Security info section in your Microsoft account settings. Go to Security info and select Delete for the orphaned entry if it appears there.

If these steps do not resolve the issue, you might want to consider reaching out to Microsoft Support for further assistance.
