We are migrating from 2008 TFS a TFS 2017 server. One of our guys was the Ginny pig a connected to the new server. Well now he needs to connect back to the old server to download his projects to migrate them to the new server. But when he tries to reconnect to the old server he is unable to make the connection.

The error massage is:
Server 'http://server:8080/tfs/basedirectory' was not added.
TFS1002: Unable to connect to this Azure DeOPS Server Url: http://server:8080/tfs/basedirectory.

Possible reasons include:

  • The Name, port number, or protocol for Asure DevOps Server is incorrect.
  • The Azure DevOps server is offline.
  • The password has expired or incorrect.

Technical Information (for administrator:
The remote server returned an error: (404) Not found
