Hello, I am trying to mount azure fileshare as a mapped network drive on my desktop PC running windows 10 enterprise. I am getting error code 0x80070035 when I am typing the access key and Storage account name in mapped network drive username and password. Please guide me as to what to do next. Thank you
This is a common issue but unfortunately it can be related to a number of different things. It seems like the above link requires a working fileshare which I do not have and some of the steps are much beyond my knowledge and understanding. I would prefer if you can troubleshoot using pictures because that is much easier and quicker. Thanks
Unfortunately there are too many possibilities to provide this amount of detail in an answer. What I would suggest is that you try to connect from a few different devices for example a Windows server and Windows 10 device as this could be a protocol issue or something specific with the device that you are currently using. Maybe create an Azure VM temporarily to see if you can connect from there, this might help to narrow down the cause of the issue.

Can someone please show me how to correct this error ? Also, do I need to forward port 445 ? Could that be the problem ? How can I check IF there is a problem with port 445 or if port 445 is already open or necessary ? Thanks

Well it seems like the mapped network storage worked with azure virtual machine. But I still do not understand why mapping a network drive within the original windows doesn't work ? And I have windows 10 enterprise so most functions should work. So what else could be the problem ?
Okay so now that virtual machine works, I want to mount my samsung galaxy s8's internal storage as a mapped network drive with a drive letter using azure. Is it possible ? Also, If I make a ftp/webDAV server within the azure virtual machine can I use that as a mapped network drive from within the virtual machine ? Please help provide insight thank you
II don't think you can map a drive to either of those systems. Regarding the port 445 issue, many ISPs block this so you need to test if this will work for you. There is a script to test this in the link I provided earlier. How do I mount my s8 into the azure virtual machine ?
I don't think this is possible without a physical cable connection.
I do have a USB cable that is plugged into my computer I just don't know how to mount/connect it inside azure virtual machine

yes i have a external hard drive Iwas able to connect inside the vmware. Just my remaing galaxy s8 didnt show up although i have it connected and mounted inside my normal desktop PC

So now that setting up a mapped network drive in azure virtual machine works. That narrows down the possibilities and now what can I do to fix it on my local drive ? Thanks....
You will have to run through the various troubleshooting steps outlined in the link provided. There is also a PowerShell based tool available from here: https://github.com/Azure-Samples/azure-files-samples/tree/master/AzFileDiagnostics/Windows You can try this first and see if it shows you where your issue is.
