Hello, My computer had windows installed at manufacture, the computer had ubuntu installed. I installed a copy of windows but the digital activation key on the hardware may have been deleted. How do I activate windows.

If the OEM license is embedded in the motherboard, there's no way it can be deleted.

you cannot use the key directly if it’s oem key. Did you install pro? If so just do a clean install of home edition. It should automatically activate if the edition matches.

If you have a product key displayed get ShowKeyPlus from the windows Store and enter the key at Check edition in the app. What does the app show about the key?
