reset Administrator Password

I have three computers on my home network. The two laptops can see and access my desktop, but the desktop can see but not access the laptops. In entering my network credentials, I am using my administrator account name (which I assume is the same as my Microsoft account name, as that lets me see all of my computer accounts, and it shows me as administrator on each of them) and entering what should be my password, but it does not work. (It does work to access the desktop from both of the laptops with that user name and password). Do I need to/is there a way to reset my adminstrator password without changing the password for my Microsoft account? Is there something else I need to do to clear any data or certificates that may be preventing this?

I have solved the problem by creating a new user with Admin priviledges on the laptop and synced the original files to the new Admin user. I was able to connect with the new user name and associated password.

The AI generated responses pointed me in ok directions, but did not provide enough detail (for a non IT person) to work through the provided solutions.
