Issue with Azure Document Intelligence Extraction Service – Request Hanging Indefinitely

Dear Microsoft Support Team,

We would like to highlight an issue we have been consistently facing with the Azure Document Intelligence extraction service.

The primary and recurring problem was with the extraction service, where we submitted documents to the extraction model, but the request continued to run indefinitely without timing out. As a result, we did not receive any response, which led to application downtime during those windows.

Issue Occurrence Timelines

December 2025

During these intervals, the extraction requests did not fail or time out but remained in a running state indefinitely, preventing further processing and causing service disruption.

We request you to kindly investigate this behavior and let us know the root cause, along with any recommended configurations or safeguards to prevent such issues in the future.
