    Hi,

Thank you for sharing your question. I understand how frustrating it can be to carefully update your password, only to be told repeatedly that it’s incorrect.

This kind of loop can feel confusing and disruptive, especially when you’re certain the password you entered is correct.

This behavior can happen when Windows does not properly sync the updated Microsoft account password, which has been reported in similar cases. Some devices may continue using cached credentials or be blocked from syncing the change, such as when the “Password Never Expires” option is enabled on the local user account or when the system has outdated sign‑in information stored. In documented Microsoft Q&A cases, unchecking “Password Never Expires” under Local Users and Groups allowed the new password to sync immediately, and ensuring Windows is fully updated and signed in with the correct account has also resolved the problem. Other examples show that Windows may hold onto old cached credentials, and signing out, updating account details, or re‑adding the Microsoft account can help re‑establish the connection.

    I hope this helps.

    Best Regards,

    Noel

If you are experiencing repeated wrong password notifications after changing your password for your Microsoft email account, it could be due to a few reasons:

    1. Server Synchronization Delay: Sometimes, after changing your password, there might be a delay in the synchronization of the new password across Microsoft’s servers. This can lead to temporary issues where the old password is still being recognized.
    2. Cached Credentials: Your Windows device might be using cached credentials. If you have saved your old password in the Windows Credential Manager, it may continue to prompt you for the old password. Clearing the cached credentials can help resolve this issue.
    3. Two-Factor Authentication: If you have two-factor authentication enabled, ensure that you are completing all required steps for verification, as failing to do so may prevent access even with the correct password.

To troubleshoot this issue, you can try the following steps:

    • Clear any cached credentials related to your Microsoft account from the Windows Credential Manager.
    • Ensure that your device is connected to the internet to allow for proper synchronization.
    • If the problem persists, consider contacting Microsoft Support for further assistance, especially if you suspect unauthorized access to your account.
