On my old laptop my MS solitaire acc was under a email that i didnt have access to, im not even sure where the email came from. I updated my MS information to host my current email but that did not change the account information the MS solitaire was under. I just recently got a new computer and had to log in to my xbox acc, with the email i thought i transferred my old acc to. However, this just started a new acc and all the progress is gone, im starting back at zero. Is there anyway for me to get the old account data back, but on the new account? I know a merge is not possible, could i use a USB? i had 3 years worth of progress completed on the old acc. again, i do not have access to that old email or account information, besides the email name itself.

    Hi Cole V,

    Welcome to Microsoft Q&A!

I understand how frustrating it is to lose three years of Microsoft Solitaire progress due to an inaccessible account and email. Unfortunately, the new game progress is not stored locally, so using USB or copying files will not restore anything.

The old email is likely linked to a Microsoft account. What you needed to do was to try to use it to sign-in to its corresponding Microsoft account, then add the new email as another method to sign in, then remove the old email if possible.

Because the original email is inaccessible and a significant amount of time has passed, recovering that cloud-saved progress is almost impossible. While you can reach out to Microsoft Casual Games | Xbox Support to explore any remaining options, please keep in mind that they generally cannot migrate game data between different accounts, especially with no proof of ownership in your case.

Unfortunately, if you do not have access to the old email account associated with your MS Solitaire progress, recovering that account data may be quite challenging. Microsoft accounts that have not been accessed for a long period can be permanently deleted, and without the necessary account details, it is unlikely that you will be able to retrieve your old progress.

Since you mentioned that merging accounts is not possible, and you do not have access to the old account information, using a USB or any other method to transfer data from the old account to the new one will not be feasible. The best course of action would be to contact Microsoft support directly for assistance, but they may not be able to recover the old account if it has been deleted or if you cannot verify ownership of it.

If you have any further questions or need assistance with other Microsoft products, feel free to ask!
