    Hi ,

There seems to be a problem with the standard HP Scanner application, but please follow the procedure below:You will uninstall any HP application, use to uninstall it later.

Disconnect the HP from the computer via USB

Go to the start menu > settings > Bluetooth and devices > Devices > More devices and printer settings HP LaserJet M1217nfw > select with right button Remove devices.

Open the command prompt (admin) and run the commands in sequence: sfc /scannow and dism /online /cleanup-image /restorehealth, wait for the process to finish and restart the computer.

After restarting, download the HP autorun and start the installation.

It sounds like you're experiencing issues with your scanner not being recognized on your MSI computer, even though it works fine with your HP laptop. This could be related to a few factors:

    1. Driver Issues: Ensure that the correct drivers for your HP LaserJet M1217nfw printer are installed on your MSI computer. Sometimes, the drivers may not be compatible or may need to be updated for proper functionality.
    2. Windows Image Acquisition (WIA) Service: If the WIA service is not functioning correctly, it can prevent applications from recognizing the scanner. You might want to restart the WIA service or check if it is running properly.
    3. Connection Type: Since you mentioned that the printer is connected directly, ensure that the connection is secure. If you are using USB, try a different port or cable to rule out any hardware issues.
    4. Application Settings: Sometimes, the scanning application may need to be configured to recognize the scanner. Check the settings within the application to ensure it is set to use the correct device.
    5. Compatibility with Windows 11: Although the printer is compatible with Windows 11, not all features may work seamlessly. It's important to verify that any scanning software you are using is also compatible with Windows 11.

If these steps do not resolve the issue, consider uninstalling and reinstalling the printer on your MSI computer to refresh the connection and driver setup.
