Getting Internet Security Warning after Microsoft tried to fix Outlook Mess

After an hour with 1st level Microsoft support on 16th and 1 1/2 hours on Wed 21 with 2nd level, to fix Outlook update glitch, my whole computer is a mess. He changed a lot of stuff and apparently reloaded all Microsoft programs and changed the core email set up/settings to mail.twc.com . (I use Roadrunner, Time Warner Cable, now Spectrum).

Now getting this warning when opening Outlook or more:

The server you are connected to is using a security certificate that cannot be verified. The target principal name is in correct. Do you want to continue using this service. YES or NO I am afraid to say no, but Yes does not work well. Cannot load all email etc
On that screen there is also a link "View Certificate"
If I click on View Certificate it says it is issued Issued to mail.twc.com, by DigiCert Sha2 Secure Server CA. Valid from 5/19/2025 to 4/14/2026
I have a case number but cannot get to a Microsoft live person or even live chat. Who do I call? What do I do?

No, still pops up every time I open Outlook. I simply click on yes and stuff seems to work. But still missing those months of emails.

This is usually a problem with how your email account is setup in Outlook. The problem is that Spectrum has a whole bunch of possibilities based on who your original email provider was.

Just as a test:

Create a new Outlook Profile. Name it something like "TEST 2026-01-30"

When it ask you to setup your email account for the new profile, just give it your email address and [Continue]. This will tell Outlook to use "Auto Discovery", where it tries to figure out the right settings for the account.

Let me know if it fails or is successful in connecting to your email server.

Then make your original Profile the default. (So the TEST Profile is still there, but Outlook will not use it).

What version of Outlook do you have?

I don't see this problem in your original question. Some details please.

Are the emails missing only in your Outlook client? Or are they gone from your Spectrum email account as well?

i.e. If you use the web based email for Spectrum (https://webmail.spectrum.net/) are they there?

All I can suggest is that you go back into the Support Maze, from the very start, and when it ask what your problem is, say "Existing case [Case Number]. Need follow up" and follow whatever steps it suggest. Good luck.
