Hi Klaus Reiher,
Welcome to Microsoft Q&A!
I understand it can be confusing how your Synology NAS appears on your PC, but not on your Intel NUC G3. To better help you, can you clarify if Windows is reporting the Ethernet adapter as faulty or missing a driver? And what is the behaviors it's showing? Any error codes or messages? While waiting for more information, here are some basic things to check:
1 - Install the correct Intel LAN driver
- Visit Intel's official support page > search your NUC G3 model.
- Download the Ethernet (LAN) Adapter driver for Windows 11.
- Install the driver, then restart the NUC to see if it helps.
2 - Verify the NUC is receiving a valid IP address
- Press Win + X > choose Terminal (Admin) > run:
ipconfig - Under Ethernet adapter, check the values:
- A real IPv4 address (e.g.,
192.168.x.x) > OK - A different address (e.g.
169.254.x.x)> DHCP failed
- A real IPv4 address (e.g.,
3 - Test connection to the NAS directly
- Press Win + R > Enter the NAS IP, for example
\192.168.1.50 - If this opens the NAS folder, the adapter is now functioning.
I hope the information above helps. Please do not hesitate to let me know if you'd like me to assist with any steps!
