When receiving some e-mails i can see the full file path of the attachments on the sending computer.
How can i stop this, preferably at the sending end?

I noticed the issue occurred on any specific messages only, I think it's related to the sending end instead of your client and we couldn't change it from the recipient’s point of view.

According to my experience, if we insert the attachment and send message from Outlook or Windows Mail, recipient could only see the file name and file type like below in message:

However, if the sender send the message via script or other third-party programs, it may insert and send the attachment in other ways, which may cause the attachment to appear differently. Here is a similar case:

Hi Jade,
The attachment is being added via Visual Basic using "Outlook.Application" and ".Attachments.Add".

The sender has sent many e-mails to me previously but this problem has only recently arisen.

Is there any way to stop the full path being sent?

Has the sender performed any changes in codes or Outlook client recently? And could other recipient also see the path? If so, as I mentioned above, the issue may be related to the sender and we couldn't change it on the recipient's client.

For the visual basic, please understand here we mainly focus on general issues about Outlook desktop client and know little about VB, based on my research for the Attachments.Add method in Outlook, I found the sender could change the display name via DisplayName Parameters. Maybe we could suggest sender to check his code, if the sender has any questions about Office VBA, it's recommended to follow this document to get VBA support .

Apparently Visual Basic in Visual Studio 2010 is being used and there does not appear to be a DisplayName parameter to the Attachments.Add method (There is a Display parameter but that does not have any apparent effect).
I understand if you do not want to delve deeper into Visual Basic, so thank you for your efforts so far.

As I mentioned above, we mainly focus on general issues about Outlook desktop client under Outlook tag in our forum, considering your issue may be more related to development, I would add an Office development tag under your post, so that there may be some users/experts with similar experiences who could give you some suggestions.
