Hi,

I have a Microsoft Exchange 2013 CU21 environment. There is no DAG. When the user deletes their mail via outlook or deletes them via owa, the size of the mailbox on the exhange side does not change . Therefore, it is having trouble sending/receiving mail. I set it to 1 day for the retention policy to delete mails. But there is no change on the exchange side for 1 month.

Thanks in advance for any help,

    @Enes

    You can try to delete email manually, I guess this retention policy that you created may not work on mailbox so far.

    If users still need those emails, you could use Outlook Archive function to backup data to local computer, it could reduce the size of the mailbox.

    You can also enable online archive for users, then user will could move emails to archive mailbox, it can also reduce the size of the mailbox.

    thanks for your answer mradm,

    My user has a 2gb mailbox quota. In order not to exceed this quota, he needs to delete his e-mails from time to time. For example, there is a mailbox with a 2gb quota. It's using 1.8gb. This usage does not change when you delete it from outlook or owa. As a result, I constantly have to increase the quota amount. I have to make the 2gb mailbox quotas to 3gb.

    Dear Enas, I hope this might help u understand and solve your issue. deleting emails from inboxes is not meant to change the size of the mailbox it oh freeing spaces from the limits placed on your inbox. this is also the reason u we're not being able to send or receive any emails as there is not a storage or a place these emails can use to land.
