when ever i copy and paste by using visible cell option then one of my spreadsheet one copy first cell contents and repeat the same contents to each row...For example i have copied five different date using visible cell Screenshot 2026-01-29 115639

from spreadsheet one then pasted into different spreadsheet by using visible cell only option now it will show five same date into five rows rather pasting rest of the date. what could be the reason ? any issues with spreadsheet setup then how resolve it.

According to your concern, can you confirm whether your destination selection is a contiguous or non-contiguous selection? If you want to copy the visible cells from a worksheet/file and paste into another one, Excel requires the destination is a normal and non-hiding cell range. If the selection is non-contiguous, Excel will think the shapes don't match and will repeat the first copied value into the selected visible row.

My worksheet has some column hidden and also has top row grouped header and always filtered on and row number are very different then each other.

Based on your information, I greatly believe that this is an expected behavior of Excel and the "Visible cells only" paste would misbehave in your situation.

When using Visible cells only (Alt + ;) on a filtered range, Excel creates a non-contiguous selection. If you paste that into a selection that is also multi-area Excel (destination is filtered, you pre-select the destination range with visible cells only before pasting or you copied a range that includes hidden columns/rows but paste into a range with a different hidden pattern) will misbehave and can result with the behavior you're experiencing.

I highly suggest you use this consistently Visible cells only copy paste procedure:

Select the date column range > Press Alt + ; (Visible cells only) > Press Ctrl + C

Click the first cell in the destination range > Ctrl + V

You must ensure the destination range is a normal contiguous range
