I am not a tech person, however I am the most techy person in our office. We are interested in purchasing some new software that works best if we have Microsoft 365 installed. I have questions about integration that I cannot seem to find the answers to. Our email is currently being hosted by Bluehost and according to my superiors they do not want that to change. Also I'm not sure what .Net version my computer is running. Is ASUS framework server compatible?

The biggest concern is that Bluehost does not have calendar or Contact group functionality and we require Microsoft 365 to mesh with our current email in order to have a functioning calendar.

please help

Hi! If your company wants to keep email hosting with Bluehost, that’s still compatible with using Microsoft 365 apps, the key is how you connect the Bluehost mailbox.

The important limitation is that IMAP only syncs email, not a true shared calendar, contact groups, or “server-side” contacts the way Microsoft Exchange/Microsoft 365 mailboxes do. So if you connect Bluehost mail via IMAP, you’ll typically get email in Outlook, but calendaring and contact/group features won’t behave like a full Microsoft 365 mailbox experience.

For a working calendar and contact groups without moving email off Bluehost, the usual approach is to separate “email hosting” from “calendar/contact hosting.” You can keep the Bluehost email for messages, but use Microsoft 365 for calendar/people features by using Outlook with a Microsoft 365 account for calendar/contacts while also adding the Bluehost mailbox for email.
