Hi twixy onyt,
Welcome to Microsoft Q&A!
I know you're expecting a PC’s HDMI port to work like a TV input, but unfortunately that’s not how most computers are built. PC HDMI ports and the PS5 are output‑only, meaning they send video out - it's like you can only go out from one side of the door, not both at the same time.
Because of this, there is no software, setting, driver, or adapter that can turn a PC HDMI‑out into HDMI‑in. The hardware simply isn’t designed for it. If you want to play your PS5 on a screen, here are some options:
- If you have a separate monitor, just unplug it from your PC and connect to the PS5. Similarly, you can check your TV for HDMI port.
- Use a capture card (works on a laptop or desktop with USB 3.0)
- Connect PS5 to capture card > open the capture card’s app to view and play.
- Note: Capture cards usually have input delay, so fast competitive games may not feel perfect.
Only very rare PC models support HDMI‑in, and the manufacturer would note it in the manual. If you want, tell me your monitor model or your laptop/PC model, and I can look up what options will work best for you.
