A Microsoft offering that enables tracking of cloud usage and expenditures for Azure and other cloud providers.
Hi Ali El Husseiny
Under a PAYG subscription, you can create multiple sub-subscriptions, but keep in mind:
- Limits on Subscriptions: The limits depend on your billing account type. For a Microsoft Online Services Program (MOSP) billing account, a maximum of 5 subscriptions can be created initially. However, depending on your usage and account history, you may be eligible to create additional subscriptions beyond this limit.
- Landing Zone Subscriptions: These specific subscriptions are generally designed for organizing resources based on deployment workloads. The landing zone approach offers guidelines for structuring your subscriptions in a way that aligns with best practices in a cloud architecture.
PAYG vs MCA
- PAYG: This subscription model allows you to pay for what you use on a monthly basis, with no commitments or upfront costs. It’s excellent for flexible resource management, experimentation, and scalability based on demand.
- MCA: The Microsoft Customer Agreement (MCA) is a newer pricing and licensing model that provides additional benefits, such as better pricing options and more comprehensive billing features. MCA billing accounts may also allow you to view and download pricing information directly from the Azure Portal.
