Problem not resolved
Enroll into update program
I have windows 10 home installed, 22H2 (18 June 2020) OS Build 19045.6466.
The windows account is active, and everything is backing up to my subscribed "one drive" a part of my Office 365 subscription.
I keep trying to enrol for the windows update program by clicking on "enrol". I get a white secondary screen come up, followed by a black screen and then it disappears. This is followed by a message your machine is at risk.
Any ideas how I might fix this?

2026-02-03T09:00:50.59+00:00 To enroll in the Windows 10 Consumer Extended Security Update (ESU) program, you may need to follow these steps:
- Check for Updates: Open the Settings app, navigate to Update & Security, and select Windows Update. Click on Check for updates to ensure your system is up to date.
- Install Out-of-Band Update: If you have not yet installed the out-of-band update (KB5071959), you should do so. This update addresses issues with the ESU enrollment process. After installing it, restart your device.
- Run the Enrollment Wizard: After the update, run the Windows 10 Consumer ESU enrollment wizard again. You should see an Enroll Now link if your device is eligible.
If you continue to experience issues, such as the white screen followed by a black screen, it may indicate a problem with the enrollment process. You might want to ensure that your system is not encountering any underlying issues that could affect the enrollment, such as corrupted system files. Running the DISM and SFC commands can help repair any corrupted files:
- Open Command Prompt as an administrator and run:
-
DISM /Online /Cleanup-Image /RestoreHealth -
sfc /scannow
-
After completing these steps, try enrolling again. If the problem persists, consider reaching out to Microsoft support for further assistance.
