Hi

A really, really old Exchange 2010 SP3 installation on Windows 2008SP2

It has .NET 4.7 and Windows Installer 5.0 installed.

Windows installer 5.0 is not supported for Exchange 2010 SP3 according to https://learn.microsoft.com/en-us/exchange/plan-and-deploy/supportability-matrix?view=exchserver-2019 and even though I can't find something officially about it, .NET higher than 4.5 is not supported.

I can uninstall .NET 4.7 from control panel, but I can't seem to find any information about how to downgrade Windows Installer from 5.0 to 4.5

Anyone?

Regards, Lars.

    Hi there,

Yes you can downgrade it, this forum has the steps for the process https://social.technet.microsoft.com/Forums/ie/en-US/07a3e7cf-fda6-43fd-807d-6aa5a7eef757/is-it-possible-to-downgrade-framework-452-to-45?forum=winserver8gen

Windows Vista / 2008SP2 contain Windows Installer 4.5, not 5.0
