I know it’s frustrating when a brand‑new computer refuses your password, and you would like to contact Microsoft Support. However, please note that this is a user-to-user support forum, limited to providing technical guidance. If you're requiring the help from support team, you should reach out to chat service for assistance:
- Visit Contact Us - Microsoft Support > Sign in.
- Type in your problem > click Get Help to make request
- Scroll to the bottom and click Contact Support to connect to agent
- Select category again > click Next and you should be added to a chat queue.
Note: The support contact team only works at certain times, so if the last window shows that it's unavailable, try opening it again the next day. If you prefer phone support, you can leave a phone number. This way, they can call you and help you.
In the meantime, I have some other suggestions for you to try if you cannot reach/don't have time for contacting Microsoft Support yet:
- Reconfirm which password Windows is asking for:
- If you're trying to sign into a new Windows PC, it likely asks for your Microsoft account password, not your mail. Try logging into https://account.microsoft.com on another device to check.
- If you're trying to log into a specific app or website, please state so as it can be specific error for that instance, unrelated to Microsoft Account.
- Keyboard layout issues on the sign-in screen:
- Confirm you're using the correct layout (e.g. US and UK keyboards make some characters type differently).
- Select the keyboard icon in the bottom‑right and choose the correct layout, then try the password again.
- Or you can open Accessibility panel and use on-screen keyboard to type your password.
- Reset the Microsoft account password:
- Access from another device https://account.live.com/password/reset
- Follow the instructions to reset > use the new password on your PC.
