DNS Code Needed

Microsoft is the host of our Domain based emails for hillproperties.net. I made a mistake and inserted DNS code directing our emails toward Google, but would like to go back to the way it was and have the emails pointed back towards Microsoft 365.

To revert your DNS settings back to Microsoft 365 for your domain hillproperties.net, you will need to update your DNS records to point to Microsoft’s mail servers. Here are the steps you should follow:

    1. Access your DNS Management: Log in to your domain registrar's website where your DNS settings are managed.
    2. Remove Google DNS Records: Delete any existing MX records that are pointing to Google.
    3. Add Microsoft MX Records: You need to add the following MX record for Microsoft 365:
      • Record type: MX
      • Alias or host name: Use either @ or your domain name (hillproperties.net).
      • Value: MS=msXXXXXXXX (replace with the specific destination value provided by Microsoft 365 for your domain).
      • Priority: Set a lower priority than any existing MX records to avoid conflicts.
      • TTL: Set this to 1 hour (or 60 minutes).
    4. Save the Changes: After adding the MX record, save your changes.
    5. Verify Domain in Microsoft 365: Go back to the Microsoft 365 admin center and verify your domain again to ensure that the changes have taken effect. This may take about 15 minutes for DNS changes to propagate, but it can sometimes take longer.

If you encounter any issues with mail flow after making these changes, consider troubleshooting the DNS records or contacting support for assistance.
