My basic subscription

I have a basic Microsoft subscription, it only works on one pc, is that the norm?

Is this the product called Microsoft 365 Basic? In that case, it won't allow you to install the Office apps locally on any computer (neither PC nor Mac). That subscription includes extra OneDrive storage and web and mobile apps.

The Microsoft 365 Basic subscription does not include Office apps. Even if you try to log in with your Microsoft account, you won't be able to activate Office apps.
However, the included additional storage and ad-free Outlook are available on all devices, as long as you're using the correct Microsoft account.
