My computer no longer shows wifi on start up. It goes to airplane mode now and I have to restart to get it to connect to wifi. How do I fix this?

If your computer is going into Airplane mode and not showing Wi-Fi upon startup, it may be due to the Airplane mode setting being applied before the wireless devices are initialized. To resolve this issue, you can try the following workaround:

  1. Swipe in from the right edge of the screen, or press the Windows logo key + C.
  2. Tap or click Settings.
  3. Tap or click Change PC Settings.
  4. Tap or click Wireless.
  5. Tap or click the affected device to turn it on again.

This should help in re-enabling your wireless devices without needing to restart your computer each time.

Try to reset Network once, see if it helps:

    Open Settings app,

Click Network & internet and click on Advanced network settings.

    Now click on Network Reset.

Under Network reset, click on Reset now button.

In confirmation prompt appearing next, click Yes.

Let us know if this helps!

    Hello,

Most bluetooth or wifi issue can be resolved by doing a power reset.

To do so, turn off the computer, unplug the computer from the power cord, then hold down the power button for 30 seconds. Turn the computer back on to see if it works.

If not, Can you share with me two screenshots please?

    1. Go to Device Manager > Network Adapters, I would like to see what's listed.
    2. Please type msinfo32.exe in the search on the taskbar and hit enter, then share a screenshot of the pop up.

    Thanks!

    Hi,

Is this a laptop or a desktop? What make and model is it?

You may try these steps. First, toggle Airplane mode off manually after boot. Click the network icon in the taskbar (bottom right), and turn Airplane mode off if it's on. If WiFi appears after that, great. Also, check for a physical switch or keyboard shortcut. Some laptops have a physical WiFi switch on the side or a Fn + key combo (look for an airplane or radio tower icon on F-keys). Press Fn + that key to toggle. This can sometimes get stuck or misclick on booting.
