Outlook saving drafts instead of sending the email

This issue starting happening occasionally but now happens very often. When drafting an email (new) Outlook will automatically save a draft of the email while I am drafting. For longer emails this will just be a partial draft that autosaves at some point during the drafting process ( I can't find the timing of this in the settings). When I click "send" the email will disappear and if it was not part of an existing thread only the partial draft will be in the draft folder with no record of it sending in the outbox or sent folder. I then have to complete the partial draft and send it again for it to actually send. If this email was a reply in a thread the message will disappear but the message in the thread will say at the top " you replied on (date and time)". It acknowledges that I replied but the reply is not in the sent or outbox folders. Only the partial draft exists in the draft folder and I again have to complete that draft and send it again for it to actually send. This seems like a draft saving issue or a syncing issue as this is a company email through a Google account that is being synced through Outlook.

I am a little surprised that none of the normal moderators has picked up this thread yet. I'll offer some advice, but you may also want to contact Microsoft Support directly.

Test with a Microsoft email account? Do you get the same problem?
If you don't already have one, create a new, temporary account at https://signup.live.com

If the Microsoft Account works OK, then you a looking at a GMail sync issue. And those can get nasty to debug. I would suggest Microsoft Support.
