If your Microsoft Authenticator app is not receiving authentication requests from your laptop, here are some detailed steps you can follow to troubleshoot the issue:

    1. Retry the Authentication: Sometimes, the request might not go through on the first attempt. Try to authenticate again, and make sure to attempt up to five times within five minutes.
    2. Check Third-Party Security Apps: If you have any third-party security applications installed on your device, they might be interfering with the verification process. Temporarily disable these apps and then try to request another MFA verification code.
    3. Use Alternative Verification Methods: If you are set up with multiple verification methods, try signing in again and select a different method (like a phone call or SMS) on the sign-in page. This can help you bypass issues with the Authenticator app.
    4. Network Connection: Ensure that your device has a stable internet connection. The Authenticator app needs to be connected to the internet to receive requests. Check your Wi-Fi or cellular data connection.
    5. Update the Authenticator App: Make sure that your Microsoft Authenticator app is updated to the latest version. Outdated apps can have bugs that affect functionality. Check your app store for any available updates.
    6. Re-register MFA: If you continue to face issues, you may need to have your administrator require you to re-register for MFA. This process will reset your authentication methods, allowing you to set up the Authenticator app again. You can ask your admin to follow these steps:
      • Go to the Microsoft Entra Admin Center.
      • Navigate to Users > All Users.
      • Select your user account.
      • Go to Authentication Methods and click "Require re-register multifactor authentication".
    7. Contact Support: If none of the above solutions work, consider reaching out to your IT support team or Microsoft support for further assistance. They can provide more specific guidance based on your account settings and configuration.

By following these steps, you should be able to resolve the issue with your Microsoft Authenticator app not receiving requests for authentication.
