Does Purview DLP “Microsoft 365 Copilot and Copilot Chat” location apply to Copilot Studio agents?

We are using Copilot Studio with SharePoint Online as a knowledge source. We need to prevent our Copilot Studio agent from accessing/answering from selected SharePoint files/folders.

We noticed Microsoft Purview DLP has a policy location called “Microsoft 365 Copilot and Copilot Chat”, including conditions to block content by Sensitivity labels and Sensitive Information Types.

Could you please confirm:

  1. Does a DLP policy using the Microsoft 365 Copilot and Copilot Chat location also apply to Copilot Studio custom agents (standalone agents and agents embedded in M365 Copilot)?
  2. If not, what is the supported method to prevent Copilot Studio agents from processing specific SharePoint files/folders (beyond SharePoint permissions and scoping)?
  3. If it’s supported only for M365 Copilot, is there a roadmap/ETA for support in Copilot Studio?

Thanks

    1. A DLP policy using the Microsoft 365 Copilot and Copilot Chat location does not apply to Copilot Studio custom agents. The DLP policies are specifically designed for Microsoft 365 Copilot and Copilot Chat interactions.
    2. To prevent Copilot Studio agents from processing specific SharePoint files or folders, you should utilize SharePoint permissions and scoping. This is the supported method to restrict access at the file or folder level.
    3. Currently, there is no indication in the provided context about a roadmap or ETA for supporting DLP policies in Copilot Studio similar to those in M365 Copilot.
