Apps and browsers closes without error

Have a nice day,

My anti-virus stopped working and froze (Kaspersky), uninstalled, and tried to reinstall, but cannot; it says something about Windows files not working properly.

Actually, I am tired of it, and it started like 2 months ago. Every browser I tried (Chrome, Firefox, Edge, Opera) closes without giving any error. Randomly. Sometimes every 5 minutes, or after 3 hours.

It also happens with Windows products (Teams, Office, etc.); sometimes they work properly, then later start to shut themselves down again, without any error in the middle of nowhere.

Games are the same; they just close. No error. After 5 minutes, sometimes after 3 hours, no problem.

It is all random. As the operating system wishes.

Updating every driver, uninstalling, etc., does not solve anything.

Help will be appreciated.

    Hi Onur Sengul,
Welcome to Microsoft Q&A forum. I'm happy to help.

    You probably have memory problems.

To diagnose the problem, try the following suggestions:

    1. Go to BIOS and disable any overclocking and XMP
    2. Check memory with a tool like Memtest or Memtest86
    • Use a third-party tool like Memtest or Memtest86 for memory testing. It is recommended to run memory tests in DDOS or standalone environments and run them for at least 3-4 cycles to ensure that memory is fully tested.
      • If the memory test returns any errors, there may be a problem with the CPU memory chipset, overclocking configuration, or the memory hardware itself.

Your Windows 11 installation seems to be very corrupt.

    Open the Settings App.

    Go to System - Recovery.

Click the 'Reinstall Now' button in the 'Fix problems with Windows Updates' section, then wait for that process to complete, this process should resolve any corruption in WIndows and will not affect your files, settings or installed apps.

It sounds like you're experiencing significant instability with your Windows system, which can be caused by various factors including corrupted system files, issues with drivers, or even malware. Here are some steps you can take to troubleshoot and potentially resolve the issues:

    1. Run System File Checker (SFC): This tool scans for and restores corrupt Windows system files. You can run it by opening Command Prompt as an administrator and typing sfc /scannow.
    2. Check for Malware: Since your antivirus is malfunctioning, consider using Windows Defender or another trusted malware removal tool to scan your system for infections.
    3. Perform a Clean Boot: This can help identify if background services or startup programs are causing the issues. You can do this by typing msconfig in the Run dialog, selecting "Selective startup," and disabling all startup items.
    4. Update Windows: Ensure that your Windows is fully updated, as updates can fix bugs and improve system stability.
    5. Check Event Viewer: Look for any critical errors in the Event Viewer that might provide more information about what is causing the applications to close unexpectedly.
    6. In-place Upgrade: If the issues persist, consider performing an in-place upgrade using the Windows 11 ISO. This can repair your system without losing personal files.

If these steps do not resolve the issue, it may be worth contacting Microsoft support for further assistance, as they can provide more tailored troubleshooting based on your specific situation.
