When I tried ti redeem gift code it shows "This code can't be redeemed. It was purchased in a different region from your account" but my region is set on the same region as sender's region. I don't know how to fix it or how to redeem it. Please help me.

    Hi, I'm John!

It is region lock. I suggest requesting a refund.

If bought from Microsoft Store, refunds are handled through Microsoft/Xbox billing. The best first step is to submit a refund request using the official page below:

Request a refund for digital purchases: https://support.xbox.com/help/subscriptions-billing/buy-games-apps/refund-orders

While refunds for in-game currency aren’t always guaranteed, Microsoft does review cases like this individually, especially when accidental or unauthorized purchases are involved.

I really hope this information is helpful! Let me know if you have any further questions or concerns.

    Regards,

    John J.D.

If you are encountering an error stating that the code cannot be redeemed because it was purchased in a different region, even though your account's region matches the sender's region, here are a few steps you can take to troubleshoot the issue:

    1. Verify Region Settings: Double-check that both your Microsoft account and the sender's account are set to the exact same region. Sometimes, even small discrepancies can cause issues.
    2. Check Code Validity: Ensure that the code you received is still valid and has not expired. Codes can have expiration dates or may be region-specific.
    3. Use a Different Device or Network: Occasionally, network issues can cause problems when redeeming codes. Try using a different device or network to see if that resolves the issue.
    4. Contact Support: If the problem persists, consider reaching out to Microsoft Support for assistance. They may be able to provide more specific guidance or check if there are any issues with the code itself.
    5. Consider Regional Restrictions: Some codes may have restrictions based on the region they were purchased in, and even if your account is set to the same region, there could be underlying issues that need to be addressed by support.

Following these steps should help you resolve the issue with redeeming your gift code.
