If you are saving to OneDrive, files are automatically saved. Thus, there is no need to manually save when you close a file.

    Hello,

Did this happen with all files or only some? Try checking File > Options > Save and Advanced settings to ensure prompts are enabled. If settings are correct but the issue persists, run a Quick Repair via Control Panel or open the file in safe mode to rule out add-ins. Let me know how it goes.
