For personal Microsoft accounts, go to https://account.microsoft.comand then sign in, select Your info > Manage how you sign in to Microsoft, and under Account aliases choose Make primary if the option is available.
If it doesn’t appear, Microsoft does not allow that alias as primary; you need to add a new eligible alias to promote. For Microsoft 365 work or school accounts, only your admin can change the primary email.
