    Hi Charles,

Settings are 1 thing, but it also depends

    on what build you're on.

WIN+R, type winver and post the build #

    you're on.

Depending on what build deleting this registry

    key may be the solution.

    HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE]SOFTWARE\Microsoft\WindowsSelfHost

Insider unenroll options can be blocked depending on how the device is configured or which Insider channel/build is installed.

    Use these checks and paths:

    1. Check Insider settings page
      • Open Settings > Update & Security > Windows Insider Program (or Settings > Windows Update > Windows Insider Program on newer builds).
      • If Stop getting preview builds / Stop Insider Preview Builds is greyed out or managed by your organization, the device is likely controlled by policy (work/school account or MDM). In that case, only the administrator/organization can change those settings.
    2. If the device is on Beta or Release Preview Channel
      • Go to Settings > Update & Security > Windows Insider Program > Stop Insider Preview Builds.
      • If available, turn on the option to stop getting preview builds when the next major public release is installed. When the device is already on a public release, this will opt it out immediately after a restart.
    3. If the device is on Dev/Canary Channel or needs to stop immediately
      • For Dev Channel (or higher) where the toggle is not available, the supported way to leave Insider builds is a clean installation of a non‑Insider Windows build.
      • Follow the clean install guidance for Windows 10/11 using official installation media, which will put the device on a stable, non‑Insider build. After that, the device is no longer enrolled.
    4. HoloLens-specific case
      • On HoloLens, use Settings > Update & Security > Windows Insider Program > Stop Insider builds if it is running a production build.
      • If that is blocked or the device is on an Insider-only build, use the recovery tool (ARC) to recover the device to a non‑Insider version.
    5. If settings are blocked by organization
      • If Insider builds are being delivered through work and the page indicates management by an organization, the device will continue to receive Insider builds until the organization leaves the program or changes policy. Local settings will remain blocked in that case.

If none of the above paths are available and the controls remain blocked, the only supported way out on that device is to reinstall a stable, non‑Insider build (clean install or OEM recovery image), or to have the managing organization change the policy.
