Please stop the ad's that automatically appear when I turn on the computer. I am paid up in Word for about 8 more month.

Ads that appear in Outlook or other Microsoft 365 apps depend on whether the account in use is a free Outlook.com-type account or one covered by a Microsoft 365 subscription.

Key points relevant to this scenario:

    1. Outlook with a free personal email (for example, Outlook.com, Hotmail) is ad-supported. Ads will appear alongside messages and can reappear every time the app is used.
    2. Ads are removed only when the Outlook.com email address is upgraded with a Microsoft 365 subscription that covers that specific account.
    3. If a Microsoft 365 subscription exists but ads are still visible, the email address associated with that subscription must be added to the Outlook app, and the subscription must be active.

    To stop Outlook ads:

    1. Confirm that the Outlook email address in use is upgraded with a Microsoft 365 subscription by signing in to https://account.microsoft.com/services and checking that the subscription is active.
    2. Make sure that same email address is added as an account in Outlook on the device where ads appear.

If the account is not an Outlook.com-type account or the ads are coming from the browser or other software (for example, pop-ups, overlays, or injected ads), they may be caused by unwanted software rather than Microsoft 365. In that case, follow security guidance for unwanted software and ad-like behavior, such as:

    • Checking for programs that were not intentionally installed
    • Reviewing browser extensions and settings
    • Running security scans to detect unwanted software
