    Hi,

This should not happen. Are there any rules enabled?

    • Open Outlook on the web.
    • Click Settings (gear icon).
    • Select MailRules.
    • Review all existing inbox rules.

I’m eager to hear back and work together to find a solution.

In Outlook.com/Hotmail, messages are grouped and shown by conversation and layout settings. To stop new mail appearing unexpectedly in a different place, adjust Conversation view and layout:

    1. Turn off or change Conversation view
      1. Near the upper-right corner, select Settings (gear icon).
      2. Select Mail > Layout.
      3. Under Message organization:
        • To stop grouping, choose Do not group messages.
        • Or keep grouping but adjust how they appear, using the options under Show email grouped by conversation.
      4. Select Save.
    2. Check Reading pane and message list layout
      1. In the same Mail > Layout area, under Reading pane, choose where messages appear (Right, Bottom, Fill screen, or Popout only) and select Save.
      2. If using the View tab in Outlook on the web, under Messages > Conversations, choose Group into conversations or Show each message separately as preferred.

If mail is still going to the wrong folder, also check for rules or filters in Outlook.com that might be moving messages automatically.
