My name is EngrSoft, I have a challenge at the office... I have created a folder inside my server (winserver2016) but I want to be able to generate an url to which I can be able to use and access the folder outside my LAN. The url will be shared with customers outside my network so that the can view the designs and also make changes that will also reflect on the folder created inside the server.

Please someone should help me.

If you have to ask this question, then I'm sorry, but I don't think that you have the experience needed to design and implement a solution. You can't just "generate a URL". You would need to install IIS, get a public IP and certificate, define firewall rules, maybe use a VPN, etc. Your would be better off hiring an outside consulting firm who has experience with internet based data access and can review your company's requirements and implement a secure solution.

    Hi there,

This might be Helpful for you
Open your Server Manager Dashboard > go to Tools > click Computer Management.
Now, expand System Tools > expand Shared Folders > Right-click on Shares > Select New Share.
In the file manager, click Other Locations in the sidebar.
In Connect to Server, enter the address of the server, in the form of a URL.
