Using Classic Outlook on Windows for personal email, calendar, and contact management
In Classic Outlook for Windows, turn off the pop‑up “Desktop Alert” for new mail as follows:
- Open Classic Outlook.
- Select File.
- Select Options.
- In the left pane, choose Mail.
- Under Message arrival, clear the checkbox Display a Desktop Alert.
- Select OK to save.
This disables the little pop‑up window for new messages. (The Settings > Notifications path applies to Outlook.com or New Outlook, not Classic Outlook.)
