Hi there,

I have what i can see to be semi common issue where modifier keys are activating without me even pressing the keyboard at times. Have turned off sticky/filter/toggle keys, updated drivers numerously, used 2 usb keyboards and a bluetooth one, did a full, clean install of windows 11. nothing seems to help.

Assuming this must have had an answer but can't find it.

Hello Kevin, I can see that you have already done a pretty clean troubleshooting.

    hmmm.

can you please try those options and let me know if it works:

    • Update All your PC Drivers (especially; BIOS/UEFI firmware and others)
    • Update your OS (if not already)
    • Change the Physical Port itself on your PC (try another USB port)
    • If you are using (gaming keyboard or something); try to turn off the game mode key.

    Advanced Steps:

    1. Reset (USB Controller): Device Manager > Uninstall all (USB Root Hub / USB Host Controller) under Universal Serial Bus controllers > Restart your PC
    2. It may be (Power issue); try use (USB hub).
    3. Open (Registry Editor) > HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SYSTEM\CurrentControlSet\Services\i8042prt > change Start Value to 1 > Restart.

    Same Issue!! ???

    To Find the root cause:

    1. boot the PC into the (Safe Mode) by:
hold the Shiftkey while selectingRestartfrom the Power menu on the Start screen or login screen. Navigate toTroubleshoot>Advancedoptions >Startup Settings> Restart, then press 4 or F4 forSafeMode. This loads minimal drivers for troubleshooting issues.
    2. test it out / without keyboard attached /it's might be a physical issue with IC keyboard / USB on your motherboard
(at this step; look for local hardware support to check it for you)

Question: have you updated your BIOS?

    Regards,
    I hope it helps!!
