Search function doesn't work properly with Outlook POP / Exchange account on WVD ( Single Session )

I am testing search function on Outlook ( Microsoft 365 for Business ) for POP account / Exchange account.

POP account: after importing .pst file for the account with Outlook tool, mail data has imported properly.
But search function of Outlook doesn't show any results.

  • rebuilding search indexes several times, but no change.
    ( index targets are Microsoft Outlook, saved at C:¥ProgramData¥Microsoft on WVD single session machine )
  • with All Mailboxes option, search results show something, but incorrect.

How do I get correct result with search box of Outlook?

    Many times I have tried to rebuild search index, but Indexer.exe stopped before finishing indexing.
    Because its search result won't be correct.

    If your search function is not working or not finding any of your messages, you may need to rebuild the search index. You can use below manual method to rebuild the search function:

    • Choose File | Options | Search
    • In the "Change the Outlook stores indexed by Windows Search", click Indexing Options
    • Select Advanced.
    • In the Troubleshooting section, select Rebuild.
    • Select Close when finished.
    • Click OK to close out of options.

    Below are the problems with the search function include:

    • You do not receive any search results
    • Search is cancelled completely
    • Some search results are missing

    Hi,

    I don't know if you have already dealt with this problem, but I found a solution that worked for me. I had exactly the same problem as you and an identical Outlook configuration.

    In Outlook:

    1. Choose File > Options > Search
    2. In Results section change the first option "Include results only from..." - check All mailboxes
    3. Click OK to confirm changes

    Now, when you use search option it should properly include also emails from PST file.
