Authenticator - No Backup- Need help

I am not sure if I had backed up my authenticator app. I factory reset my android phone and reinstalled the Authenticator and lost all accounts. Could someone please provide step by step instructions on how to proceed from here on. All my apps are locked and I cannot access any of them :( This is urgent, Thanks in advance

Hello same problem here, Dave Patrick solution is not working for me either because my app wasn't backed up on iCloud. Any other solution? Microsoft has property over the app so there must be another solution. Maybe by directly contacting the support, but how?

You can follow along here. Basically install the app, then sign in to the recovery account to start the restore process.

Thank you for the quick reply. Unfortunately I do not think it was backed up. I am contacting individual app help centers to help me send the backup codes. I just wish the Authenticator app made it mandatory to backup - otherwise not let the user proceed. That way everyone knows that they have a backup or they should not be able to use the app.

I had added up to 6 apps in the authenticator , I have to individually figure out I guess :(

Yes, that's correct, you'll need to work with each service provider on their specific account recovery mechanisms.

Hi,
I'm experiencing the same issue...
But I think my data were backed up, but when I downloaded the app in my new phone, I clicked in "ADD ACCOUNT" instead "BEGIN RECOVERY"...

Could this error have reseted all my previous backup ?

Is it possible to get it back ?

Same with me, Any update here?
I'm sure that I have backed up the Authenticator and now it says "Your backup is not stored with <my email>.'

I don't know if anyone can jump in and help us. I want some from MS who can actually see our account and check in cloud storage for backup.

On my work phone my account was deleted and now when I try to sign into authenticator, it asks me for an authenticator code which I cannot get because I am not logged into it. How do I fix this?

Is there ANY way of just getting Authenticator totally reseted, gone, out of my life for good???

(broke my phone, I apparently did not have back ups, I am stuck with it with no access to several accounts)

This is only for iOS.. What about Android?
