I have received the product key, but I am unable to locate any download option for the installation media (ISO files) in my account or order confirmation.

May I ask where you purchased your license from?

If this is a retail purchase, you can download the ISO from the Microsoft Evaluation Center here: https://www.microsoft.com/en-us/evalcenter/

Then use your product key to activate after installation.

If the license was purchased through Volume Licensing (VLSC), please sign in to the Volume Licensing Service Center to access the download.

I purchased Windows Server 2025 Standard directly from the Microsoft website.

As I am planning an in‑place upgrade from Windows Server 2022, I would like to confirm whether it is safe and supported to download and install the evaluation ISO, and then activate it using my purchased product key.

I have received the product key, but there is no download option for the installation media (ISO). I need the correct retail installation ISO because I am planning a supported in‑place upgrade from Windows Server 2022 Standard.

Windows Server 2025 installation media is not downloaded directly from the product key or order confirmation. Installation ISOs are obtained from the appropriate Microsoft distribution channel:

Verify where Windows Server 2025 Standard was purchased (for example OEM, Retail, Visual Studio subscription, or Volume Licensing Service Center).
Sign in to the corresponding portal for that channel and download the Windows Server 2025 installation media (ISO) from there. The installation media for Windows Server must be obtained from these channels and is then used to create bootable USB/DVD and install the OS.

The official guidance states that setup media for the target Windows Server version is obtained from:

Original Equipment Manufacturer (OEM)
Retail
Visual Studio subscription
Volume Licensing Service Center (VLSC)

If the purchase was through volume licensing, sign in to the Volume Licensing portal associated with the organization’s agreement to access downloads and keys. If it was an OEM or Retail purchase, contact the seller or use the download options provided in that channel.

Once the ISO is downloaded, it can be used to create installation media and install Windows Server 2025 Standard following the documented steps for either Desktop Experience or Server Core.
