Fix problem with Premium Solitaire

I have had premium solitaire for a number of years on an annual renewal basis. Today, I was able to get into the game, but it kept showing ads. I thought my subscription renewed in November, but there were many ads, so I renewed. I have shut down the desktop(rebooted) and am still getting the ad version of Solitaire. Please advise on how to correct this problem.

Thank you.

Microsoft updated the Solitaire games a few days ago, now there is a bug where there is a subscription snyc failure. Microsoft support (if you can even call it that) is blaming users settings. A honest company would let their customers know there is a bug and they are working on it. Then there is Microsoft that won't, it is easier for them to blame their customers instead of fixing their bug like a good company would.

Let's remember, from 1990-2012 it was free to pay, in 2012 the ad's came, then in 2015 the premium edition. Too bad Microsoft will charge for something that use to be free without offering support for the product. This is cooperate greed, someone high up in Microsoft needed money to go to a certain island.

I submitted a ticket with Microsoft Casual Games Support, they requested the solitaire files from computer, which was shared with their Engineering and Development teams. Shortly afterwards the system was back to normal. Hopefully the bug was fixed for everyone.

Follow these steps to resolve the issue where Microsoft Solitaire Collection is still showing ads after renewing:

    1. Confirm the subscription is active
      • Go to the Microsoft account Services/Subscriptions page and verify that the Solitaire-related subscription (or Microsoft 365/Game Pass if that’s what provides Premium) shows as active and not expired.
    2. Make sure the correct account is signed in to the game
      • Open Microsoft Solitaire Collection.
      • On the main screen, check which Microsoft account (gamertag/email) is shown as signed in.
      • Ensure it is the same Microsoft account that owns the active subscription. If not, sign out in the game and sign back in with the correct account.
    3. Reinstall Microsoft Solitaire Collection
      • Open Microsoft Store on Windows.
      • Search for Microsoft Solitaire Collection.
      • If it is already installed, uninstall it from Start > All apps > right‑click Microsoft Solitaire Collection > Uninstall.
      • In Microsoft Store, open the Microsoft Solitaire Collection page and select Install. The game will download and install automatically.
      • Launch the game, sign in with the subscription account, and check if ads are removed.
    4. Restart and test again
      • After reinstalling and signing in, close the game completely, restart the PC, then open the game again and verify whether the Premium (ad‑free) experience is active.

If the subscription is confirmed active, the correct account is signed in, the game has been reinstalled, and ads still appear, contact Microsoft Support or Xbox/Microsoft Store billing support so they can check the subscription entitlements on the account and correct them.
