AMD Adrenalin software not working Error code 1603

hi im trying to download adrenalin software on my hp omnibook ultra laptop 14-fdx00 and im always getting error code 1603

ive tried

-DISM + C++ repair method

-AMD cleanup (locked me out of my laptop had to get recovery key cuz i went into safe mode didnt go past it since i got scared)

-Fully deleting any files with amd

originally it worked for me once and ever since that its never worked for me again and i would like to try and fix this

please help me someone

Hi.

I have the exact same problem with my omnibook ultra. I noticed the problem when the machine started crashing whenever I did something heavy or watched videos. I adjusted the vram settings from the amd application when it worked then and removed the graphics driver and reinstalled it. After that I haven't been able to install the amd adrenalin application.

In addition, since I can't install the amd application, I can't restore the vram settings

(the system currently uses 32GB 23GB of ram and the graphics driver has 8GB of ram).

I can't do anything heavy on the laptop without the graphics driver starting to freeze.

And I can't restore it to factory settings at all even though I've reinstalled windows on the laptop.

Hi,

If possible, access msinfo32.exe in the search bar, take a screenshot and post it.

Msinfo32.exe will have the correct model information for your HP laptop.

In this case, open the command prompt (admin): net user administrator /active:yes, then run the command: manage-bde -off C: and restart the PC.

Connect the laptop to power and close the programs and run as administrator, wait for the process to finish.

Remember, do not interrupt the process in any way; if you interrupt it, it may cause your PC to stop working, so be careful.

After updating the BIOS, you will use AMD Cleanup Utility to remove the current drivers.

After cleanup you will install the Chipse and video drivers on the HP website

Hii,

You will use DDU to remove the video driver completely and use the

DDU: https://ftp.nluug.nl/pub/games/PC/guru3d/ddu/[Guru3D.com]-DDU.zip

Note: DDU is a third-party application to completely delete and reinstall the GPU driver.

After downloading, extract ddu to a folder.
Run the driver screen uninstaller.exe application, select Model tab, put GPU. After uninstalling the GPU Driver, uninstall it for AMD and Nvidia.
Click on the First option clean and reboot and wait for the process to finish.
After running DDU and install driver :

Error 1603 is a generic Windows Installer error that indicates the installation failed. From the available information, the following Windows-side checks and fixes are applicable:

Check if AMD Adrenalin is already partially installed

Open Settings > System > Apps > Apps & features.
Look for any AMD/Adrenalin/AMD Software entries.
- If found, select them and choose Uninstall, then restart and try the install again.

Make sure you are not installing to an encrypted or substitute drive

Install AMD Adrenalin to the default system drive (usually C:) and avoid any encrypted folders or substitute drives.

Fix possible permissions issues on the install drive The installer uses the SYSTEM account. If SYSTEM does not have Full Control on the target drive/folder, error 1603 can occur.

In File Explorer, right‑click the drive where you are installing (typically C:), select Properties > Security.
Confirm that SYSTEM is listed and has Full control.
If not, edit permissions to add SYSTEM with Full control, apply, then retry the install.

Repair potential .NET / MSI corruption Error 1603 can also be caused by corruption in .NET Framework or MSI registration.

Run the .NET repair/cleanup and reinstall sequence as described in the .NET Framework error 1603 guidance, then retry the AMD installer.
