Junk mails

Over the past three or four days I have been bombarded with well over 100 junk emails. I set up rules to make sure they went to my junk mail. I stopped reporting and deleting them about a week previous, but that only increased the number of the emails sent to me. So I have stopped reporting and deleting because it was of no help.

Now I have received a few in my regular inbox. Why would I get one in my inbox with a header FIANCIAL HELP. Seriously, if they can't spell financial is is bogus and should be sent into my Outlook junk mail by Microsoft, not my inbox.

Totally frustrated with this situation.

    Hi, I'm John!

Thank you for sharing some steps you've already tried. I understand how frustrating this situation must be.

I noticed you posted under Outlook web. You can change the level of protection in the Junk Email Filter using this steps:

    • Open Settings (gear icon from top right)
    • Click Mail > Junk email.
    • From there, you can select the "Strict" option. Please note that this will put all other messages into the Junk Email folder if they are not from the Safe Senders and Domains list. So, I suggest building your Safe Senders and Domains list first to allow known senders into your inbox.
    • You can also check the option "Block attachments, pictures, and links from anyone not in my Safe Senders and Domains list."
    • Click "Save" and monitor if issue will persist.

Also, did this start suddenly today, or has it been happening for a while? A sudden wave like this can sometimes mean your email was exposed somewhere.
