Gets `Sign-in failed Error code: interaction_required` for accessing portal.azure.com

Question

I have been trying to get training via Microsoft Learn for AI-900.
The access to Microsoft Foundry and Azure sites (ai.azure.com and portal.azure.com) get blocked with Sign-in failed Error codes (e.g., interaction_required).

I have tried both normal and private mode for browsers (Edge and Chrome).
Further support is required.

The interaction_required sign-in error indicates that additional authentication or policy interaction is needed before access to the Azure portal and related services is allowed.

Try the following steps in order:

1. Use a clean browser session
   • Open an InPrivate/Incognito window (do not reuse an existing one).
     • Edge: Settings → New InPrivate window.
     • Chrome: New Incognito window.
   • In that private window, go directly to the Azure portal and sign in again.
2. Clear cached sign-in state
   • If the issue persists, clear browser cache and cookies so old sessions and tokens are removed:
     • Edge: Settings → Privacy and Services → under Clear browsing data, select Browsing history, Download history, Cookies, and Cached images and files, then Delete.
     • Chrome: Settings → Privacy and Security → Clear browsing data.
   • Close all browser windows, reopen the browser, and try to sign in again.
3. Check for multiple accounts and automatic sign-in
   • If multiple Microsoft accounts (work/school and personal) are used in the same browser, the browser can automatically sign in as the wrong user and cause sign-in issues.
   • Sign out of all Microsoft accounts in the browser, close all tabs, then use a private window and sign in only with the account that should have access to Azure and Microsoft Learn.
4. Test from another browser or device
   • If the error continues, test from a different browser (for example, Chrome if using Edge, or vice versa) or another machine to rule out local browser or profile issues.
5. If the error persists
   • The interaction_required error means the request needs user interaction (for example, an extra prompt, consent, or policy approval). If the above steps do not surface any additional prompts and the error continues, contact the Azure or tenant administrator to review sign-in and conditional access policies for the account.
   • If still blocked from accessing the Azure portal, create a support request as described in the Azure subscription sign-in troubleshooting article.
